DFR 2.0: KEYNOTES – DEMONSTRATIONS – TRAINING
WHY ATTEND?
How can the drone industry solve new security challenges that global law enforcement and public safety officers face?
The DRONE AS FIRST RESPONDER (DFR) conference will present and share current best practice for global LEA community as well as private sector. Where are we with the current technology and what will be needed in the future?
Focus will be on end-to-end solutions and the focus that a drone no longer is a flying aircraft but a part of a multi-tool box, and a part of a number of several uncrewed technologies that merge together. Focus will be on drone as a first responder today and in the future.
THE GOAL
By gathering the knowledge and sharing it with relevant global players we can strengthen safe international drone use for the global LEA and public safety agencies, with focus on current and future needs for the industry.

Be sure to stay in Chula Vista two additional days, as drone service provider, Flying Lion, Inc., is proud to announce a one of a kind training course developed and taught by its staff along with current/former DFR ASOs. Whether you are considering a new DFR program or been engaged in one for years, this training course will be beneficial for your program.
ASOs – also called Teleoperators or Remote Operators, are critical to the success of any DFR operation. ASOs are usually sworn law enforcement personnel who operate the DFR drone remotely. This course is focused on training ASOs, and their supervisors, on all the aspects of setting-up and operating a world-class DFR program.
Immediately following the IDES2023 / DFR 2.0 Conference, this unique course provides comprehensive DFR ASO training to agencies with existing or planned DFR Operations. The course is meant for both first-time and experienced ASOs — with ‘real-world’ analysis of actual DFR calls for service and “remote” flight training.
The ASO course combines classroom and hands-on/remote flying for the best learning experience. The curriculum includes but is not limited to:
• Overview of DFR Operations
• Selecting Launch Site(s) and Defining Areas of Operations
• Securing FAA/CAA Permission & Airspace Authorizations to Fly DFR Missions
• ASO Workstation & Rooftop RIP Setup (Best Practices)
• Responding to Different Calls for Service
• On-scene Best Practices
• BVLOS Operations and Special Considerations
• Operating Multiple Locations
• Current Case Law
• DFR Calls-for-Service Reporting (for Command Staff and Funding Justification)
During this is the first-ever ASO-focused two day course, participants will remotely fly ‘real-life’ DFR scenarios with different DFR software applications to train and respond to different simulated calls for service, Participants will leave with skills that can be immediately applied to your own DFR program.
Pricing for the 2-day course is:
$795 (IDES2023 attendee with thirty-day advance purchase)
$995 (Non-IDES2023 attendee or registration after September 25th)
Course Includes:
• Breakfast and Lunch each Day
• Interactive Classroom Sessions
• Hands-on ‘Remote’ Flying to ‘real-world’ DFR Scenarios
